TV in 2019 – First Half Review

“As the first half of the year draws to a close, it’s time to look back and reflect on a wealth of television both on the traditional and challenger networks that has been released over the last six months. As someone with an open penchant to consume a vast plethora of media and subject matter, 2019 has seen an abundance of riches released to the general public, with a few notable conclusions scattered in certainly if your heart has a desire for the small screen, you haven’t been left for wanting. Of course, one of the benefits of the digital era is the opportunity to go back and discover or enjoy a forgotten treasure, those landmark series that passed you by on the first occasion. With June coming to an end, as a British writer, my review of the television series I have watched over the last six months, not necessarily created or abiding by their release on US networks as we do tend to, on occasion draw the short straw of release dates.” Continue reading TV in 2019 – First Half Review

The TV Show’s Tag-Tagged

“I do on occasion like to push myself and challenge some of these topics of conversation, they are a good natured and revealing discussion that allows you to invest as much or as little of yourself as you wish to expose. I enjoy watching and discussing television series and shows for the simple truth today’s media, not in perhaps impact or legacy is our equivalence of plays or theatre in days gone by and a reflection of our moral stand point. ” Continue reading The TV Show’s Tag-Tagged

The Gamer Tag – Tagged

“Sometimes its important to contemplate the more deeper and profound meanings of life’s existence, on other occasions it’s fun to just sit back and reflect on a hobby or pastime. Today is one such day and as such I felt intrigued to answer the Gamer Tag from A Geek Girl’s Guide having read the most recent contribution from The Hannie Corner on the topic and set out to reveal a little more about my personal gaming habits and hobbies. On reflection, some questions were a little easier to answer given the somewhat singular nature but others required a little delving into the subconscious to answer truthfully. Either way, an enjoyable few moments to reflect on some of my more enjoyable titles and releases and give a little insight into my own personal tastes.” Continue reading The Gamer Tag – Tagged

Friday Favourites – TV/Movie Adaptation

I decided to focus only on books that were adapted specifically into television or movie format, that pre-existed before the final form was realised as opposed to the novelization of media which is perhaps another discussion entirely. The tone and dialogue on the screen tends to change fundamentally to the written word which allows a deeper and often more indulgent exploration of the characters motivations and thought process for example. Most Anticipated Games of 2019

“Why exactly am I anticipating Ritual of the Night…? Well it’s a new metroidvania-style game from Koji Igarashi, the maker of numerous classic Castlevania games. In fact it’s basically a new Castlevania in everything but name, which naturally makes it right up my alley. The move to 3D environments and characters is a bit of a shame (since I loved the 2D sprite-work of the older games) but other than that things seem to be coming together nicely. Bloodstained is coming from a great pedigree and the game has been in development for a very long time now so I’m cautiously optimistic.” Continue reading Most Anticipated Games of 2019

10 Composers, 10 Great Movie Themes

“A wealth and abundance of riches, choosing a single piece from this composer whose scores are as renowned as the worlds he brings to life in his compositions was daunting prospect. A number of his tracks have had a different impact on me as I have grown up and become aware of the impact he alone has had on the cultural resonance.” Continue reading 10 Composers, 10 Great Movie Themes
