Toxicity and the Danger of the Echo Chamber

“We perhaps underestimate the impact the digital environment has had on our ability to digest news and influence we take into our private domain. I generally as a rule for this blog and page avoid extreme ideologies of the right and left, equally I won’t block or mute individuals as long as they remain within the law” Continue reading Toxicity and the Danger of the Echo Chamber

Embracing the Collection

“Last year I undertook a personal challenge, a simple premise, complete a single game from my backlog on a monthly basis and try and experience some of these titles gathering real or virtual dust in my various collections. In itself a noble endeavour but ultimately based on the premise of the collection itself being a negative state of affairs, a failure on my part as a gamer. Perhaps I thought accomplishing this challenge would validate my reasoning, allow me to debate or discuss from a position of moral authority, who can say, but it was a largely positive experience providing some lasting memories.” Continue reading Embracing the Collection

Plague Inc. – iOS/Android Review

Indeed, the central premise of the game is simple, you are the virus itself, growing and responding to changing conditions with the objective to destroy all life as we know it. Ghostbusters: The Video Game (Remastered) – PS4 Review

“For me, Ghostbusters was never a perfect film, it always felt a little rough around the edges and somewhat stitched together to create a functional, memorable movie of the ages. A Year in Review 2019

“In 2018 I set out to revive this project, an ambition to work as a collaboration between friends in bringing our vision of the gaming industry to life across a variety of platforms and media. My element, the written content came to fruition last summer as I begun in earnest to craft content and material based on my attempt at objective reviews of existing purchased media in addition to more subjective opinion based articles on the industry as a whole” Continue reading A Year in Review 2019

The Outer Worlds Review

“It feels very much like a homage to the work of Bethesda and Bioware, taking the best elements of each studio to create a new franchise that whilst not pushing the bar creatively to far outside its comfort zone is still an accomplishment in itself” Continue reading The Outer Worlds Review

‘Charming and Open’ with Adventure Rules

“I’ve been giving consideration to the agency gaming has on our morality and perceptions. We like to consider ourselves, learned creatures, people of rational thought and construct whose opinion is largely based on objective reasoning over subjective, emotional stimulus. To give weight and fair process in answering this question involves challenging ingrained opinions and rational thought on a subject matter, removing all hubris and ego from the discussion and arriving at a fair conclusion. ” Continue reading ‘Charming and Open’ with Adventure Rules

Dissecting Racism and Racial injustice in Mafia 3

“When we are surrounded and only hear like minded opinion, it reinforces the notion of hubris, our opinions are the only valid ones and I should take pride in being right. ” Continue reading Dissecting Racism and Racial injustice in Mafia 3

30 Day Challenge Day Five: What is the geekiest thing you’ve ever done?

“It’s probably the most geeky action I’ve undertaken where I’ve taken the base product, in this case Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and invested significant time and effort to produce content with no measurable benefit to anyone else really besides myself that I know of. ” Continue reading 30 Day Challenge Day Five: What is the geekiest thing you’ve ever done?
